Head Start for Children’s Helping Hand

Head Start for Children’s Helping Hand is a community-based organization located in Balawoli Town Council, Kamuli, Uganda, committed to promoting and advocating for the rights, welfare and protection of children, particularly those from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to live, learn, grow and become a productive member of society. Through community-based interventions, advocacy, psychosocial support, sensitization, skills development and collaboration with different stakeholders, we work to address challenges affecting children and other vulnerable members of the community.

Mission

To promote and advocate for the rights of children, especially those in vulnerable categories, while supporting their welfare, development and protection.

Vision

A community with inbuilt capacity to sustain itself while ensuring improved socio-economic standards of living.

What We Do

Providing psychosocial support to disadvantaged and neglected children and community members.

Advocating for children’s rights, welfare and protection.

Supporting vulnerable children through skills development and empowerment.

Promoting education and literacy among disadvantaged children.

Sensitizing communities on HIV/AIDS, STDs and other issues affecting children and families.

Working with Government, NGOs, individuals and other stakeholders to address challenges affecting children and vulnerable communities.

Our Approach

We believe meaningful change happens when communities, families, government, organizations and individuals work together. We therefore collaborate with stakeholders at local, national and international levels to promote the interests of children and disadvantaged people.
