Since 2022, Head Start Children Helping Hand Limited has been working in Balawoli, Kamuli District, Uganda, to support children who face barriers to education, personal development and a secure future.
We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, develop confidence and build a meaningful life. Through educational assistance, essential learning materials and targeted support, we are helping children take the first steps toward independence and a brighter future.

A Helping Hand for Children Who Need It Most
Head Start Children Helping Hand Limited was established in 2022 in Balawoli, Kamuli District, with a simple but important purpose: to give children the support they need to stay in school, develop their potential and prepare for life.
Our focus
While we support children generally, we have a particular commitment to empowering boys.
We want boys to grow into young men who can:
- Complete their education.
- Develop practical and life skills.
- Make responsible decisions.
- Become economically independent.
- Take responsibility for their lives and families.
- Contribute positively to their communities.
- - Build sustainable futures rather than remaining trapped in cycles of dependency.
WHAT WE DO
Turning Basic Support Into Opportunities
Our programs focus on practical support that can make a meaningful difference in a child's education and wellbeing.
Education Support
We help children remain in school by contributing toward educational costs, including school fees and other essential school requirements.
Learning Materials
We have supported children with:
- Books
- Pens
- Other essential learning materials
Menstrual Health Support
Our support has included sanitary pads, helping girls manage their menstrual health with dignity and remain engaged in school.
Child Empowerment
We want children to develop the confidence, responsibility and skills necessary to navigate life successfully.

EMPOWERING BOYS
One of the distinctive areas of our work is the empowerment of boys.
Boys need guidance, opportunities and positive support as they grow into adulthood. Without the right foundation, young people can struggle to make responsible decisions or find sustainable ways of supporting themselves.
Our goal is to help boys develop the foundation they need to manage their lives and ensure continuity into adulthood.
